Deep percolation from irrigation can help groundwater recharge in irrigated valleys with shallow aquifers, yet few studies have characterized the hydrological connection between surface irrigation and the shallow aquifer.This project aims to characterize irrigation water movement through the soil surface-vadose zone-shallow aquifer continuum. Deep percolation experiments are being conducted in different crop and soil types.
